Nach Gefühlswörtern wie love, like, hate und enjoy steht das Gerund (-ing-Form): I love dancing, I hate waiting. Dieselbe Familie: keep (on), start, stop, begin, finish — He keeps practicing, she started learning, he stopped worrying.
I love dancing in the kitchen light, I hate waiting for the weekend train.
Ich tanze gern im Küchenlicht, ich hasse es, auf den Wochenende-Zug zu warten.
Nach want, need, decide, learn, hope, try (im Sinne von versuchen) steht der to-Infinitiv: I want to show you, you decided to come, you learned to be free. Merkpaar: love dancing — want to dance.
